Bruno … oh, my Bruno. This poor soul has been through it. Serving a couple of stints in prison and still comes back stronger than ever. He’s always been one to stand up for the little guy, which is how he initially met Belle. That story is just amazing in itself.

With Belle being raised by Nico, alongside several brothers and sisters, she had no choice but to be who she was. Straight forward, honest and let’s face it … crass. But that’s why we love her so much. Bruno and Belle make the ultimate couple. Strong willed, confident, and no holds barred attitudes. You can’t help but route for them. Their love doesn’t come easy though. They face many challenges in this book and it’s great seeing how much they overcome. I truly think this is one of the tops in Lani’s series, and what a way to end said series.

I have been waiting for this book!!!! Throughout this series we’ve just known Bruno to be a grump that shows no emotions and now we get to really know who Bruno is. 

Belle is an editor and quite the loner who isn’t going to have kids, get married or anything along those lines. She was best by herself. Which was quite a surprise to her family when they found out about Bruno. 

Bruno works for Lynn, like all of the Souls Chapel Revenants. Nobody ever thought he’d find a woman let alone date one. 

These two are absolutely perfect for each other. This story was perfection. I’m always in awe of how Lani brings in so many of the characters from past books to intertwine into each story. That is one thing I love about her writing. This book was a little different than the rest but just as amazing. I’m sad the series has come to an end but what a way to end it!!
