Taos was tired.
Tired of everything that came with living. Not to the point where he was suicidal or anything, but tired enough that he just didn’t give a crap anymore.
He’d seen all the ugliness this world had to offer due to his job as a police officer for way too many damn years of his less than stellar life. After finding a way to sustain his spending habits that didn’t include having criminals point guns at his face, he quits without a backward glance.
Only, he just can’t step away from old habits.
Old habits that have to do with a beautiful young woman that makes his heart feel like it isn’t nearly as broken as it is.
Fran has experienced more than her fair share of crap. After an attack that nearly took her life, she stays hidden in her house, fearful that stepping out of her comfort zone will be the final nail in her coffin.
Then her sister forces her to face her fears, and she joins Madd CrossFit.
There, she meets the man that saved her life a year ago, and realizes rather quickly that he doesn’t even realize who he is to her.
He’s everything she ever thought a man should be and wants nothing to do with her.
Maybe she’ll have to give him a reason to look her way.
And damned if she doesn’t find a way to do it.
She didn’t plan on nearly getting killed for that to happen, though.
At least not again.
I think I have found my new favorite LLV series. Madd CrossFit is just amazing!! There is so much mystery, passion, and depth to this story. It’s like we get two for one with this book.
Taos is an overworked, under-appreciated ex-police officer turned detective. One case, in particular, had him walking away from the line of duty. He connected with a woman who had been attacked and it haunted him. Que Fran. A beautiful woman who was scared of her own shadow. A woman who had Taos in her sights, but felt as if she was invisible to him. Once she realizes that he runs CrossFit, she’s intrigued and now wants to get in shape. Taos knows that he can be someone that she can rely on and hopes that she will, in time, give him a chance. Get ready for some steam, because it’s off the charts! This duo is a match made in Heaven.
This is a series that I know I will want to own the paperback of and add to my shelves. If you’re looking for something out of the box and not the same story that’s been told over and over, then pick up One Rep. I promise that you won’t be disappointed.
I was really anticipating this book!! Who doesn’t love a new series by their favorite author? At first I didn’t know what to think, it definitely had a different tone than we are used to but it didn’t take long to suck me in.
Toas is an ex-police officer/detective that is now a writer and a part owner of a CrossFit gym. When a beautiful woman starts taking one of his classes, he never knew what hit him.
Fan is struggling a bit in life but she’s trying to not let the past define her future. She was smitten by Toas just as much as he was with her from the second she stepped into Madd CrossFit for her very first class.
Like I said before this book has a different vibe but it’s a good vibe. I loved this story and as always there’s always some twists and turns. It wouldn’t be a Lani Lynn Vale without it! This story was HOT and I swooned over Toas the entire time. I loved how sweet he was, and the love of his grandmother had my heart. I am super excited for the next book!!
