Money can buy anything. And anyone. As the head of the Constantine family, I’m used to people bowing to my will. Cruel, rigid, unyielding—I’m all those things. When I discover the one woman who doesn’t wither under my gaze, but instead smiles right back at me, I’m intrigued.
Ash Elliott needs cash, and I make her trade in crudeness and degradation for it. I crave her tears, her moans. I pay for each one. And every time, she comes back for more. When she challenges me with an offer of her own, I have to decide if I’m willing to give her far more than cold hard cash.
But love can have deadly consequences when it comes from a Constantine. At the stroke of midnight, that choice may be lost for both of us.
I have to say, the alpha male hate game is strong with this one. Winston gave me the creepy feels for so much of this book. I don’t know what it is, but this is pretty much the first time that I haven’t fallen in love with the main character. I can’t really call him the “hero” as I don’t know exactly how he will end in the book as we are left with a cliffhanger.
What I will say is that I am on pins and needles needing to know the conclusion to the story. Ash is so young and has finally found her footing and her voice. Problem is, her evil stepbrothers continue to be a problem that she can’t seem to get away from. When Winston realizes that she is in trouble, will he come to her rescue and demolish those boys? I simply can’t wait to read the next step in this story.
As usual, K
Webster is a master at her skill. I read this book in one day, because I needed
to know what happened next, immediately. A dark and sinister spin on Cinderella
that is a much read!
