There are a few
lessons one has to learn for themselves. Then there are the lessons that most
people don’t have to learn because it’s just not done.
For instance,
most people know instinctively that they shouldn’t crave the mother of their
brother’s child.
Bourne Pena
isn’t most men.
Bourne does
everything he can to fight the attraction he feels for Delanie, but in the end,
his refusal to go there almost ends up costing him his life.
***
Delanie
Davidsdottir just wanted to forget. One night, she wanted to feel like a normal
human being.
That one night
changes her life and gives her a son that becomes her heart and soul. From that
point forward, she does her level best to keep her head on straight and not
make any more mistakes.
And falling for
her child’s father's twin brother—say that three times fast— would be a
mistake. Not only is he Trouble with a capital T, he’s also a SWAT officer that
puts his life on the line every single day.
She can’t take
another loss like the one she suffered once before.
Then again,
Delanie never encountered a man like Bourne Pena before, either.
Bourne ... the
sexy, sassy twin. The cop, the world's best uncle and noble son. The one who stays and never leaves. The one you can count on
to be by your side, no matter the situation. And most importantly ... the one
who takes what he wants. A literal “give no ***ks” type of man, who takes the bull by
the horns. Enter Delanie ... the animal lover, sexy hard-headed European twin, with a "take no prisoner" type attitude. However, when it comes to Bourne, she is a big ol' softy.
This love story
of Bourne and Delanie is so fast paced that you’ll feel the whiplash. It is
fast, but an exceptionally long time coming. Secret crushes are typically not
so secret, are they? Once these two realize that it’s what the other wants,
they take no time in getting there. Lots of sex. Mah goodness, the sex. Enough
to make your Grandma blush!!
Per usual,
Lani’s writing has reality mixed in with fantasy. She just has a knack for
keeping you reading. Always fun, never boring and leaving you saying “damn, I want
that!” This seventh book in the series leaves you breathless and wanting more.
I can’t wait for what’s to come!!
I couldn’t wait to be inside of Bourne’s head. In Joke’s on You Bourne seemed a bit bitter and now we know his side of the story!! EEEEKK!
Bourne should get a metal for being the best brother a guy could have. He gave up a lot to make sure Delanie and his nephew had everything they needed. The kicker is both Bourne and Delanie have had a secret crush on each other since they laid eyes on each other but since Delanie made that one mistake Bourne is shut off and downright cold. That is until they get one night together….one night of pent up stress relief then walk away…can they do it?
OMG, this book really gets the blood flowing if you know what I mean. Bourne was such a hard ass in the last book but getting into his mind was what we needed! He has the biggest heart and all those years was so heartbroken, no wonder why he was so bitter. He is the best uncle hands down. And Delanie, she is such a bad ass…she built her own company from the ground up and took no names. What an amazing mother she is.
As always Ms Vale does not disappoint! This book was a handful but in a good way. Loved the story and the characters always come to life. I don’t know how she does it but damn am I excited to see what she has in store for us next!!!
