Legend (Sinister Fairy Tales Collection) by M.R. Leahy: Release Blitz + Review

Title: Legend
Series: Sinister Fairy Tales Collection
Author: M.R. Leahy
Genre: Dark Fairy Tale Retelling
Release Date: February 6, 2020

Far, far away, hidden on Insula Sacra—Island of the Accursed— lives a forgotten world of man and beast.

Damned by the Gods, and forced to live in everlasting darkness, they continue to fight a war that has long since been buried in time.

With each rise and fall of the cursed moon, they are reminded of all they’ve lost.

Desperate for freedom, they await the night the one true king will rise to power and free them from the curse.

The King, however, cannot rise without his Queen—both blessed with the mark of the Gods, they must end the war to save them all.

Or so the legend says…

I will be completely transparent and tell you that M. R. Leahy is one of my favorite authors. However, I was not feeling this story for the first half of the book. It was kind of slow and I just kept imagining wolves in the forest. Nothing really standing out for me. It all clicked later on when Janey realized her purpose and came to be. Then is where the action started for me. I fell in love with the suspense and the love story. Karzan stepped up and became the man and leader that he was meant to be. The connection that he and Janey share is amazing and the bond he has with his mother is exceptional. Legend is a story of love, compassion, protection, and coming of age. An excellent remake of a tale that we all grew up with and loved. 4 1/2 full feathers for Megan Leahy. Let’s hope they keep on coming. I miss your brilliance on paper!!

Another great installment into the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection.

"They abandoned us, cursed us. An endless war, a dying race...the prophecy states that once united, the chosen one, bearing the mark of the gods, will bring forth the one true king.” Balling my hand into a fist, I turn and face the great room. “I will be that King. No matter what it takes, no matter how many people must burn to make it so, we will rise again and this time, not even the Gods will be able to stop us.”
