Boss of Me by Tia Louise

They warned me not to take this job.
They said you were ruthless, impossible to please…
I said I was better than them.
I wouldn’t fall for your charm, your arrogance, or how sexy you fill out that suit.
I wouldn’t fall for your deep brown eyes or the way that muscle moves in your square jaw when you’re pissed.

I said I could resist you.
I was wrong...

(BOSS OF ME is a STAND-ALONE workplace, military romance with a badass alpha boss and the feisty woman who steals and heals his heart. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

This book is smoking hot!! Patton is every woman's military wet dream and Raquel is a strong smart independent woman who I will champion until the death of me.
I'm loving this wave of authors writing strong female characters, even with vulnerabilities they are fierce.
So onto the book.
Raquel just graduated top of her class and is ready to take the corporate world by storm. She enlists at a company that her sister used to work for but didn't anymore due to unknown reasons, but she didn't leave amicably.
Patton is a veteran that seen some things... bad things... things that will change a person. He is beautifully damaged but not beyond repair.
They meet and he's sour but he is attracted to her fire and the fact that she doesn't bend to his every whim. She challenges him and doesn't take his crap.
The sexual chemistry is amazing and it's always fun when they pretend it's nothing. WE KNOW its magic though.
The only thing that stopped this book from being 5 feathers for me are two things:
1. I find it concerning her sister didn't tell her why she left and why she would take the job knowing this place left her sister in such shambles.
2. The conflict ended too cleanly. Marley needed to be helped, he seemed coddled and they made excuses for him. I wish they would've been more firm. I understand what he was going through was unimaginable but they should love him from outside of the building.
Other than that... I loved it. I recommend it to everyone looking to melt between the pages.
