Prudence Carlson has been lucky in life. A fulfilling wedding-planning business run with her girlfriends in Colorado, plus the best guy friend ever in her firefighter bestie Finn. All that's missing from it is a baby. Luckily, it's the twenty-first century--Pru can take matters into her own hands. She doesn't need to find true love to create the future love of her life.
Except all this talk of babies and insemination and...Pru and Finn cross a line they never expected to. Sure, one night of passion won't change their close friendship. Until Pru goes in for a fertility check-up to find...she's already pregnant.
As best friends, Pru and Finn have survived college, new jobs, and bad breakups, but can they survive crib shopping, birth classes, and late-night cravings. Especially when Finn has never considered himself even remotely Daddy material?
Finn, super hot, terminally nice can't hurt anyone's feelings so he calls upon Pru to help him out of these (uncharacteristically benign) situations.
The relationship between the two was very sweet. I also enjoyed the relationship between the friends.
If the story was sweet and the characters were likeable, I know you're asking why only the 3.5 rating?
For me, it didn't wow me or leave me feeling any sort of way. Also while the characters were likeable I really didn't like Finns lack of balls. He could've told those girls he wasn't feeling them. The girl allergic to dogs in the beginning and the relationship ended so quickly and amicably. I rolled my eyes a little. The fact that no one knew they were attracted to each other also turned me off. I love a good fantasy, but when we are talking about romance some semblance of reality needs to be had. The suspension of disbelief was way too great to connect for me.
The story itself wasn't bad, which is why I do recommend it, I just wanted more.
