Will an
unexpected loss tear them apart?
Remy MacAlister
has his hands full. Between watching out for his bipolar brother and taking
care of his elderly grandpa, he doesn’t have much time for a social life.
Besides, who else is going to look after the only family he has left? So,
nothing can distract him, not even the beautiful, foul-mouthed woman with the
interesting honey-colored eyes that lives downstairs.
Wow...this story. Beyond Beautiful is an up and down, cat and mouse type read. He wants her, she doesn’t want him. He still wants her, she wants him, but won’t let feelings get in the way.
Remy and Belle have chemistry. Off the charts chemistry. They both feel it, but Belle just refuses to be in a relationship. She dates, but she won’t commit. The entire book I kept saying “oh, come on already! Remy’s hot, he’s chivalrous, he’s a family man and he’s rich!” I know that I couldn’t deny him. You find yourself wanting these two together. Trust me when I say that you’ll swoon and you’ll also want to smack Belle upside the head.
Beyond Beautiful is a great read. I can actually see it on the big screen. The only thing is that it will be two movies. It’s a very long read, so you’ll definitely get your monies worth! Can’t wait to see what Heather MacKinnon gives us next!
Remy and Belle.
Oh my.
I loved Remy.
He’s so sweet, romantic, hot and rich. He makes time for his Gramps, his
brother, working out and running his company. He also is a great friend to
Belle. But that’s mostly because that’s all she wants. He’s trying to respect
her wishes while changing her mind.
Belle has some
mommy issues. It’s left her anti-relationshipy. She fights her feelings like
Mike Tyson!!!! And honestly as much as I like her, that part becomes annoying. I
was screaming “just get on with liking him back already”!!!
I do have to say
that even though I loved the characters themselves and the story is
great....there are a lot of words. This book is LONG! 45 chapters!! That is
pretty much the only downer to this book!!!
That being said,
its definitely worth the read.
Very Much
Recommend!!!!
“I don’t even
know how this review will do this book justice. I loved the book about Ryder
and Bailey and this one is no different. This story about Remy and Belle was
beautiful. There were so many times I wanted to shake Belle and take her place
with Remy. This book had me smiling, yelling and crying. I’m emotionally
drained but it was so worth it. You will not be disappointed.” -Angie

“Gramps, you
didn’t even say hi to Belle yet,” I called.
The grumbling
instantly stopped, and moments later, he poked his head out of the kitchen, his
smile wide across his face. “Belle! It’s so nice to see you again!”
He ambled over,
quicker than I’d seen him move in years, before pulling Belle into a big hug.
She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, her face still a little skeptical
but her smile bright. “It’s nice to see you too, Gramps. Thanks for having me
back.”
He pulled away
and waved a hand in the air. “You’re always welcome here. In fact, if you wanna
come next week and leave the wet blanket at home, I wouldn’t blame you.” He
jerked his chin in my direction.
I rolled my eyes
and walked around the two while Belle giggled. “Yeah, yeah. Then I guess this
wet blanket isn’t cooking you one of your favorite meals tonight.”
I strolled into
the kitchen, Gramps and Belle hot on my heels. “What favorite meal are we talkin’
about here?”
I set the
grocery bags on the counter and started unloading them. “Well, Belle and I
picked up all the ingredients for shepherd’s pie, but if I’m not enough fun, I
can leave you two to it.”
Gramps turned to
Belle. “Do you know how to make shepherd’s pie?”
Her eyes widened
as she shook her head. “I can’t even boil an egg.”
“Damn,” he
muttered under his breath. “Okay, Rem, you’re welcome to stay.”
I rolled my eyes
and started loading the food I’d bought into the fridge. “How magnanimous of
you.”
