Poor judgment:
knowing better yet doing it anyway.
Flint Stone is a
professional in every way.
He’s a police
officer with the K-9 unit and works at Gun Barrel High as the school resource
officer. In his spare time, he’s working his heart out to create a successful
gym from the ground up.
He’s loved by
every single person he ever encounters—student, faculty, and employees—Everyone
but Camryn Elvis Presley.
The only thing
they have in common is their mothers’ poor excuses for names.
Period. The end.
So why is it
every time she crosses his path that he has the urge to mess up her perfectly
curled hair? Or unbutton a few of her prim and proper buttons?
He knows he
should stay away, yet like the high schoolers he’s around every day, he has no
choice but to react first and think about the consequences later.
Side note—bad
decisions are made, leading to lapses in judgment that threaten both of their
jobs. Yet when the time comes, neither one can seem to find the wherewithal to
care. Why? Because being bad feels so good.
Have you ever loved
someone from afar, so hard that you would do anything to gain their attention?
How about smashing into his police cruiser because your mind was pre-occupied with
dirty thoughts of him? That is Camryn and Flint. Aka flinststone. Yeah, I’m pretty
sure his mom had jokes!!
Being the school
resource officer brought Flint right where he wanted to be .. in Camryn’s
school. He knows all of her moves. All of her doings and … mis-doings. Flint got
his chance to woo her and once she was under his spell, she wasn’t going
anywhere. I absolutely love their banter. Each one has their own version of
smart-assery. Their sense of humor is off the charts and I absolutely love this
duo. As with any book by Lani Lynn Vale, it’s addictive, it’s funny, it’s love
and it’s amazing. Make sure to pick up Lord Have Mercy, which is the second
book in her new Southern Gentleman series. 4 ½ feathers!!
Lord Have Mercy, LLV did it AGAIN!! This was such a quick read, but it was packed full and kept me engrossed the whole way through.
Do you remember how in elementary when a boy likes a girl he hits or makes fun of her? This story totally reminded me of that!! We first met Flint and Camryn in Hissy Fit and if you read it you’d know these two had it in for each other. Or so we thought.
Flint is the K9 resource officer at the same high school that Camryn teaches at. The two have this bickering/flirtation going on and it’s great. They both think that the other hates them. It’s quite comical actually.
This couple had me rolling but filled my heart at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this story. I love how LLV always has some sort of drama to keep us on our toes. I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us!!

When she’s not
writing, you can find her curled up in her favorite chair reading.
Lani is married
with three children and lives in the Great State of Texas.
