I don’t even
know how to begin this review. I am a big, big fan of Natalie Bennett. All of
her books rock. With that being said, Degenerates is ... different. It is the
beginning of a new chapter in the Savage series. These are the OG’s kids, all
grown up. I found myself flipping back to the front of the book, trying to
figure out who was whom. It was confusing with all the new characters. After I was able to get passed that, I fell
in love with Adelaide. She is bad to the bone. Nothing can rile her. She’s got
it in the bag. She’s been raised by Savages, after all.
In walks Zane
and her world turns upside down. From absolutely hating this man, to wanting to
be in his pants. Thing is, they’re two different gangs. Two rival gangs. There
is no way that she can be a Savage and he a Venom, and they be together. Adelaide’s
dad would kill them both. Looks like they need to figure something out, if they
want to be together. What I will say is that they have some hot as hell
chemistry. Once down and dirty, there’s no holds barred. The one thing I
absolutely loved about this book is that we still had our favorite characters
come back into play. Especially Rome and Cali! It wouldn’t be right without
them all.
If you have read
the Savages series, be sure to continue, with Degenerates. They all must be
read in succession, in order to know what is happening. I can’t wait to read
Hellions, book 6 in the series. Bring it on!!
