I have never
been a fan of step-brother/step-sister romances. I thought they would creep me
out. Boy can I tell you that I was completely and utterly wrong. I loved every
single second of Payback’s A Bitch. This book is real, true to life situation.
I can see how this could be a story that happened to my best friend. To my
cousin or to my neighbor. I laughed entirely way too much at this book.
Missy Johnson
has a knack for bringing you into the story and feeling like one with the
characters. The wit and banter between Cam and Darcy are hilarious. The way
that the story started off with Darcy hating him and then built up to
undeniable, unmistakable, profound feelings was excellent. Nothing was rushed,
and nothing was lost. The story had a hilarious and heart felt ending, while
also giving us what we always want...a beautiful HEA.
This is my
first book by Missy Johnson and I can proudly say that it will not be my last.
I hope that there is a continuance to Payback’s A Bitch, because I would love
to know what happened with Cam and Darcy and dang it if I didn’t fall in love
with cute little Mack. I need more of the little brother. Pick yourself up a
copy and get your tissues ready. However, it will not be from tears of sadness,
but tears of laughter.
