Mess Me Up is the perfect title for this book because boy did it mess me the hell up!!! This was a side of Lani that I adore. I seriously hated to love her at one point, but good god was this book amazing. 

Rome is lost in the abyss of sorrow and is going nowhere but further in the darkness. He has tried to push away everyone that he loves but there is one person that he just couldn’t shake.

Izzy has been infatuated with Rome for some time and just when she is a part of his life, the unimaginable happens and puts a tilt in her world. She doesn’t give up but is it enough?

I LOVED this story with a passion. I have to warn you though, it tore my heart out and stomped around on it for a good while. Get your tissues ready because the tears WILL stream down your face like a faucet….that being said, I was super impressed. Not only was it painful, it was absolutely gorgeous and heartwarming. Both Izzy and Rome have been through so much, but can they heal each other or will it tear them apart? 

Mess Me Up … oh my goodness did it do just that. This is another Lani Lynn Vale masterpiece, but it took me some time to get there. My heart was torn out, ripped to shreds, stomped on and mutilated. Thankfully, it was put back together; piece by beautiful piece.

Isadora Solis had a pen pal. A famous football player pen pal … Rome Pierce. Izzy had a terrible upbringing, a terrible life. Little did Rome know, but he saved her, just by being who he is. He never thought that he would meet his pen pal, so he laid his heart out on the table. Rome was himself with her and didn’t hold back. Just watching him play and being who he is made her see a silver lining that she never expected. Fate and one sweet little boy brought them together. Can they mend each other’s shattered souls? Is their commonality more than either can handle?

I will be honest and tell you that Lani brought me back with this book. She made me fall in love with her writing all over again. Sometimes you need a tragedy to see what you’ve been missing. What you would have never seen before. Mess Me Up is absolutely on my top 2018 reads list. Congratulations on another amazing chart topper!!
