Johnny and
June … their names say it all. Destined for love from the very beginning.
One thing that
we learn about this duo is that they love, and they love hard. Their take no bull
attitude and I will kill to protect my own is something that we all strive for.
The hard, intense feelings for one another is awe-inspiring. Johnny didn’t care
about the reputation that unfortunately followed June thanks to her parents.
June became hardened by the hate that was constantly being spewn at her. That
didn’t deter Johnny from seeing the true beauty that she was – inside and out. June
was a hard shell to crack, but it seems that Johnny has that magic touch. The
touch that melts her bubble and lets him in.
This is not a
typical Lani love story. It’s a slow burn from the very beginning and then
ramps up and gives us what we want. Another brilliant novel added to the rest
of her masterpieces.
