This
is the first installment on the Cocksure series but it is a standalone. Each
one of the Cocksure books can be read separately and out of order since each
one is about another couple. I found myself laughing out loud a lot throughout
this book and loved the fact that the roles have been reversed. It’s not the
girl that gets duped for a change!
Everly
has a harsh breakup with her boyfriend and moves back across country to her
hometown of Boston. She’s supposed to meet her brother Cam, when she lands but
he’s called into work so his best friend waits to meet up with her. It’s been
ten years since she’s seen Niko, will he even recognize her?
Niko
is a fireman and the best friend of Cam, Everly’s brother. He’s quite the dog but he’s an honest dog. He’s
one that never has a problem hooking up but has a set of rules he lives and
breathes by. One of them is “Only one night.” That is until Everly comes along.
This
book had me hooked from the beginning. The chemistry between Niko and Everly
was amazing. I loved how light it was at times and though sometimes it felt
like I was being led on, it kept me wanting more. My favorite part would have to be the fact
that the tables have turned, it’s usually the female characters that are the
ones to get burned…this was great!! I’m so excited for the next in the series!

While caring for her son, she turned to reading to escape the reality and stresses of her everyday life.
