You’ve heard the rumors.
Yes, they’re all true. The
women…the bank account…the really big…
Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself.
I’m just saying, there’s a reason some call me Mr. Big. But none of it will
matter to her. I’ve known her since we were kids. And she’s just as off limits
now as she was then.
She’s my best friend’s little
sister and when he asked me to give her the grand tour, he did not mean of my
bedroom.
So Mr. Big has to stay under
wraps… One problem, she’s the only woman I’ve ever truly loved. But with the
secret I’m keeping, she’ll never love me back.
Mr. Big is such a sweet story. It truly is. A story about a romance
brewing from childhood, best friends, family and an unbreakable bond. Emma is
the little sister to twin brothers, Ben and Steven. Zach Andrews was their best
friend and he viewed their family as his family, since he really didn’t have one.
Emma took a leap of faith and decided to move to London alone. This is such a change
for her and doing it on her own caused her family a great deal of concern. Not
wanting Emma to get hurt, Steven asks Zach to look after her. A task that is
easier said than done. Zach struggled to keep his feelings in check because he
has always felt that he was not good enough for her. What he didn’t know is that
Emma has always loved him. Will he reciprocate those feelings, or can he
distance himself and stay “romantically” away?
I really enjoyed Mr. Big, although I struggled to keep up in the
beginning. I found myself having to go back and re-read certain passages,
because I felt as though I had missed something. Once I got about 2/3 into
the book, it started picking up and the flow was much better. Other than that,
I loved the characters and everything the story stood for … family unity and
love. I am not new to Mrs. Malone’s writing, although this is my first time
reading where she is a solo author. Needless to say, it will not be my last. I can't wait to see what Nana has in store for us next!

The story is wonderful and I loved the characters. I really liked how strong & brave Emma is. The story is about her breaking out of being under her parents thumb after tragedy struck. She moves to pursue what she wants out of life makes this a wonderful read.
I loved how much Zach wants to protect Emma and how much he cares for her. But especially the respect he has for her brother (his BFF) and the rest of her family. He's sacrificing his own happiness for the family that helped shape who he is as an adult. His second family, really his only family.
The writing was wonderful in the form of setting the story and background. Where I found myself struggling was in the beginning. It started off very slow for me. I seemed to be thinking "come on already lets get there" quite a bit.
The other place I struggled a bit was that the synopsis and everything about this book is geared toward his "Mr. Big" and it's not much talked about in the book.
However, I did very much enjoy the end!! I enjoyed the story and the characters very much!!
Highly Recommend!

It was a sultry summer afternoon
in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick-butt
heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination constantly channeling her
inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own
characters.
While she waits for her chance at
a job as a ninja assassin, Nana works out her drama, passion and sass with
fictional characters every bit as brazen and kick-butt as she thinks she is.
