What. A. Ride!! I promise you that every book that I review for Lani gets better and better. When I think that she can't top the last, she goes and does it!
I am SO happy that Truth got his book. There has always been something intriguing about him. My gawd, would I climb that man like a tree! Right from the get-go, we see Truth's tenacity in getting what's his. We see his smart ass, alpha male, dominating self. The scene that still has me cracking up is when he was riding around seatless. Man, did that kill me. Again ... tenacity!
Verity on the other hand, also knows what she wants. She gets knocked down, but she gets up again. Nothing is going to keep her down. Especially the night that she dreaded the most. This is where she meets Truth and let me tell you that it is ALL uphill (down a bit) and then back uphill again.
Son of A Beard is one amazing, unputdownable read. One that I did not want to see end. I am saddened that I have no more Truth and Very. These two make my heart swell. So many emotions. Tears, love, fear, strength .. it's all there. Lani gives us just what we're looking for and this is exactly why I continue to purchase her books and come back time and time again.

What a twisted ass story, I LOVED IT!!!! Lani never disappoints. I don’t know
where she comes up with this stuff but damn it keeps you interested. I devoured
this book, legit couldn’t put it down. We FINALLY got Truth’s story!!!
Verity is
supposed to be getting married. She has everything in the works and shows up
for the final fitting of her wedding dress to find it on another woman….Truth’s
girlfriend.
Truth
finds his cousin and his girlfriend getting it on. What really irks him the
most is they are doing it on his BIKE. His bike is his pride and joy.
What’s
really messed up is that Truth was asked to be the best man in his cousin’s
wedding to his ex-girlfriend. This is where Truth meets Verity so at least he
has that going for him. Yes, Verity had to be at her ex’s wedding. Very twisted,
I know.
I swear,
this book had my jaw dropping to the floor. It only gets more twisted as the
story goes on but has a lot of depth to it as well. I loved how Truth had no
idea how much he could love someone. He is one of those guys that was set in
his way, at the end of the day he didn’t need anyone…so he thought. Verity is just a hoot and doesn’t take no for
an answer. I loved her bullheadedness.
This book
had me hooked from the start. The flow was amazing. I love the way Lani can
pack so much into one book without it being overwhelming. The characters are
always perfect and we get some SILAS and SEBASTIAN!! I forgot how much I love
those two! I really like how past characters make their rounds in each book.
So, what are you waiting for!! Go get some crazy on and start reading TODAY!!
