This story. THIS STORY makes my heart so happy. It makes it jump for joy, do cartwheels, somersaults and even a few back hand springs. Fear the Beard has got to be one of the most tender hearted, mesmerizing love stories Lani has written, to date. I think I actually LOVE Tommy. He makes my heart pitter-patter like no other. And Tally? Well, she is just heaven on earth. That woman could make the devil smile, with a heart of pure gold.
The best thing that could have ever happened to either one of them is Tommy's near death experience. With Tommy nearly being killed by an idiot driver, Tally was there to witness the whole thing. What she didn't know is that Tommy is her med school teacher. He is known as Dr. Bones (because he's so damn sexy and everyone wants to bone him) and she definitely has eyes for him. However, he is her teacher .. she is his student. That means hands off, on both ends. Tally also has a baby girl by a dead beat ex, whom she would rather forget, although he seems intent on making her life hell. One look at her baby Tallulah and Tommy is in love with that little girl. This makes the temptation for Tally even harder. Who wouldn't want a drop dead sexy, bad as hell, MC Doctor holding their baby girl? And swooning over her nonetheless?
Tally has a ridiculously jealous friend, Hadley who seems to want to ruin things for them before it even begins. Does this mean the end to his career and her med school graduation? Will the two be able to keep their emotions in check and their pants on? Only you can find out by picking this baby up and reading. Fear the Beard is nothing short of amazing and Mrs. Vale has once again, outshone herself!!!

Tally is a twenty-year-old single mother struggling to
finish nursing school. Has she made mistakes in life? Sure, but her daughter
isn’t one of them. She works hard, she studies even harder, and she’s only a
few weeks away from graduating.
She’s living her life the best she knows how when she witnesses
a near miss motorcycle accident between a car and a biker. A biker that happens
to be the most talked about teacher at her college.
The moment she meets those startling blue, narrowly-escaped-death
eyes, she realizes quickly that life as she knows it has changed. No longer
will she be content to let life pass her by, even if it puts everything she’s
worked so hard for in jeopardy.
*** Tommy is a highly skilled doctor. A teacher. A veteran. A fully-patched member of The Dixie Wardens MC. He’s lonely, but also set in his ways. What will it take for this man to accept that he needs to make some changes in his life? Apparently, it’ll take a guy in a truck, who’s preoccupied with his phone rather than focused on the road, nearly plowing into him on his bike at seventy miles per hour. Oh, and a twenty-something year old nursing student witnessing the entire thing from only a few feet away.

It only takes a second, a single heartbeat in time, as he
looks into her worry-filled eyes to realize that he’d give anything for a
single night with her. He may lose his job in the process, but after that one
incredible night turns into an amazing weekend, he knows it’s worth the risk
for the promise of her forever.

This book
absolutely blew me away. I literally couldn’t put this puppy down. Once I
started, I couldn’t stop. I started it in the morning while having my coffee
and well, let’s just say I didn’t get squat done that day. My daughter was
lucky I remembered to get her from school.
Tally had
my heart from the beginning. She’s a young single mom that is working her
behind off to get through nursing school. Not only is she going to school but
she’s working full time as well to make ends meet.
Tommy, OH
MY TOMMY!! He’s a veteran, a doctor, and he teaches. He’s also a member of the
Dixie Wardens MC club. Tommy is stuck in his ways and is used to being alone.
He never had the inclination of a relationship until his eyes met with a beauty
on the road.
On the
way to class Tally witnesses what was almost a horrific accident. Come to find
out it was her new teacher that was almost splattered on the pavement. They
didn’t hit it off right away. You know that saying that if a boy picks on you, he
likes you? That’s what went through my mind.
This
story pulled my heartstrings HARDcore. Tommy is a biker but he’s also this
amazing doctor that has a heart of gold. I loved how gentle, caring and just
plain sexy. My idea of a sexy man is one who loves and cherishes children.
Tommy just has it ALL! Tally is just a badass woman. I give her huge props for
being a single mom and working so hard at giving her daughter good life.
I love
how Lani’s books are so fast paced. You get so immersed in the story it feels
as if time has been standing still. When starting a new book in the series I
always wonder how this one is going to live up to the last and EVERY single
time I am blown away. Lani never ceases to amaze me and I think she’s a genius
writing god!

I leaned back in my chair, letting my pencil drop onto the couch beside me, and stared at him.
“What are you doing?”
He worked his jaw, his hand coming up to allow his fingers to scratch his beard.
He looked so freakin’ sexy, even doing innocuous things like touching his majestic beard.
It really was majestic and longer than I remembered.
Was he growing it out? I wonder what it would feel like rubbing against the inside of my thighs?
“That look won’t get you anywhere right now,” he murmured.
I bit my lip.
“I ” I didn’t have anything to say to that.
I really shouldn’t be thinking about it.
Really.
I shouldn’t be thinking about how his cock filled me up. I shouldn’t be thinking about the erection I could now see straining his pants. I shouldn’t be wishing I could take it out and swallow it.
“Stop,” he snapped.
I’d bitten my lip, but my eyes remained on his cock.
And the next thing I knew, there was a two hundred and thirty-pound man on top of me, pinning me to the couch.
I gasped, taken aback at the suddenness.
He used my gasp against me, slamming his mouth to mine as he thrust his tongue into my mouth.
I moaned.
He tasted like chocolate.
I’d seen him eating M&M’s in class when I’d passed his classroom door on the way to my own.
I’d also been insanely jealous of that candy.
I wanted to melt in his mouth. I wanted to be the thing that he enjoyed the taste of.
He thrust his leg in between my thighs, and I parted them without hesitation before wrapping my arms around his shoulders and pulling him even closer to me.
I forgot what I was doing. I forgot where I was. I forgot everything, focusing only on the feel of his body on mine.
The taste of his mouth. The smell of his skin.
