I must admit; I am a Melissa Toppen newbie and holy COW what was I waiting for?? This book had me hooked from the beginning. If you haven’t read Everything After then I suggest you do. You don’t necessarily need to but you’ll understand the dynamics of the band and backstory much better. You won’t regret it one bit, Killian and Nora’s story was amazing too!

Gabe Preston is your typical rock star. Sex, drugs and rock and roll is the way of life. His band members though have had enough and give him an ultimatum, sober up or get out. While trying to figure his life out his past sneaks up on him.


Raelyn finally had her life together and had a plan for her and her son. That is until Gabe was back in town. She thought after two years she was over him, until he waltzed into the diner her father owns. Gabe won’t take no for an answer and pursues Raelyn until she caves.

Can Gabe break down the massive wall Rae has built?

Like I said before this book had me hooked from the get go. I absolutely LOVE Melissa’s writing style. This book kind of broke my heart in spots but in all it was a great love story. It was refreshing to read a great book that wasn’t full of smut. I’m not saying I don’t love those books but sometimes you just need a book with angst and wholesomeness.
