Whoa! I have goosebumps just writing this review. As soon as I opened my kindle and started reading Halo, I was captivated. I was entranced and I refused to put it down. The world as we speak would have had to be ending for me to close my kindle. The story line is very original and one that I will not soon forget.

Halo met Thomas Wells at 15 years old, with him just turning 17. At that young age, he knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to leave the life that he led, on the wrong side of the tracks behind and become a US Navy SEAL. Nothing was going to stop him. Thomas also knew that he wanted Halo to be part of his forever. The two were inseparable from day one, because Thomas knew that Halo was it for him. She was his everything and his sole purpose in life was to make her happy. Their bond was so strong and she meant so much to him, that he saved her the heartache of telling her he was shipping out, until the day before. The day that he would tell her, was Christmas. A Christmas that will always remain embedded in their lives. The next morning came and he left to go overseas. "She made me want to be a SEAL for an entirely different reason - I wanted to prove myself worthy of her." Thomas loved Halo with a heart so huge, that it may have just burst.

Fast forward five years and Halo is pregnant and still so utterly in love with Thomas. He will forever be her heart. She knows that "You're my Halo, my ray of light. I will always find my way back to you." She doesn't take this quote lightly. Halo loves him with all that she has. Life handed her a curve ball, but she was set on making it right. She wants her life that she was promised. With friends surrounding her, she knew that she had to keep going on with life and hope that he will come home to her .. safe and sound. After all, he promised to come home to her, right? She is his ray of light.

Life just isn't fair sometimes. We never know where we are headed and/or who we will meet. One day, Halo met an injured soldier, named Ryder. He was damaged and needed someone to lean on. Ryder didn't have any place to go, so Halo being the saint that she is, offers to rent him her garage apartment. Halo's friends think that she is crazy, but she has the purest of hearts and knows that she must help him. Ryder steps right in to help Halo in everyday life.  No matter what, he is there to help when needed. That makes the two form an extremely strong bond. Does there seem to be feelings popping up? Working hard to get his memory back was a challenge, but there was a huge bomb getting ready to drop. Information starts coming to light, as Ryder slowly starts getting his memory back. The things that he tells her, has her world reeling. Will this destroy the friendship that they share? Is this something that Halo can overcome? Will Thomas ever find his way home?

This is my first book from RC Stephens and let me promise you ... it won't be my last. She knows how to play on your emotions and feel every single thing that the characters are feeling. I fell in love with Halo and Thomas and so desperately wanted them to find their happily ever after. I wanted him to come home and say "It's always been you." I am a hopeless romantic and I was just waiting to read those words and yell "I KNEW IT!"

Make sure to pick up your copy today. I started reading it at the nail salon yesterday and didn't stop once I started. The book was so fantastic that I didn't even feel bad for not interacting with my technician. It is that good. I couldn't wait to get to the next page, to see what else RC was going to give us. Amazon does not allow half stars, but it is a 4.5 amazing stars for this girl! Job extremely well done RC!!
