As I started this story, I thought for sure that I was going to hate Chase. He is chauvinistic, crude, and all dirty alpha. He is very rough around the edges and uses women to his advantage -- all pleasure. The dump her and leave her type. I thought for certain that I would not like this book, if this is how he was portrayed through it's entirety. Boy was I wrong. OH so wrong! Thank heavens, Chase ended up being such an amazing character.
Naomi is married to Brayden; newly married. She felt as though he was stepping out on her and cheating with multiple women. He works late, goes away on business way too much and pays her no attention. Her first guttural feeling was that she could no longer trust his faith. Therefore, she sent an email to Chase Black, P.I. This is where both of their lives changed forever.
Chase and Naomi begin to get close, starting by phone alone. The feelings started stirring within each other, but there was something standing in the way... Brayden, her husband. She cannot be unfaithful to him ... or can she? Can Naomi stay away from the man that she longs for, or will she stay with her husband, and try to work things out?
This really did turn out to be one of my top reads this year. It's gripping, dark, sensual and hot as sin! Kane Caldwell sure can write erotica. I mean, the sheer way he sexes up a woman is ingenious. He takes what he wants and he knows how to please a woman. I'm not the kind of woman who feels that she has to read sex in every story, but oh my GOD am I glad that Kane knows how to deliver! This will not be the only read from Mr. Caldwell. You have a forever fan!
