Confessions of a Bad Boy Episode 1: Never Commit

I’m the internet's favorite Bad Boy - the guy who’ll tell it to you straight. No bullshit charm. No excuses. Consider it a public service, letting women know the truth about what guys are really thinking and teaching guys how to get what they want.

Yes, we were checking that girl out.

No, you don't want to meet her parents.

And no, ladies, we don’t care what shoes you wear - as long as they’re up around our neck by the end of the night.

Life was simple, until fate brought me back together with Jessie.

My best friend's younger sister, who I just happened to have the hottest one night stand of my life with four years ago.

Who calls me at 3 AM to get bailed out of jail.

Who I can’t keep my hands off of.

And who can never find out who I really am.

She’s off-limits, but I don't care. And when I need a fake girlfriend to help me out of a jam at work, she’s the only one who can help. Now I’m stuck sharing a hotel room with her for the weekend.

A long, sexy weekend.

This is your Bad Boy, signing off.

Review

I absolutely love this book. This has to be JD's best book to date.
Being a bad boy is a dirty job but someone has to do it, right? Being in love with a bad boy can be a good thing right?
Why is everything that's bad for you feel so good?
We meet our eligible and ever sexy bachelor Nate in this book. Ladies, he's spilling all the secrets, so tune in.
Jessie and Nate have known each other since they were children. Nate and Jessie's brother Kyle were best friends. Well now that they are both all grown up, those friendly feelings start to change from something innocent to something a little more “bad.”
Continuing down this road can lead to a world full of hurt and pain, but some things are too tempting and powerful to deny.
Will this relationship survive for the self-professed bad boy and girl who's never made a good choice?

I gave this book five feathers because the writing is amazing. They both know what they want, even if it is not the exact moment they want it. I love when the female character is kick ass and not a whiny codependent mess. Nate doesn't lie to these women he shoots straight from the hip, and makes no apologies. The relationship between the characters is believable and it grows and progresses at a natural pace, it didn't feel forced or artificial. The sex in this book, fits with what I would imagine the characters would actually do. Some books the kink doesn't match the character. In this one, the characters are hot and the sex is hotter.

Excerpt of Confessions of a Bad Boy:

Her smile drops. Everything comes zooming into sharp focus. I can hear her breathing and my own. It’s as if time stops for a few seconds. We’re thinking the same thing.

This is wrong for so many reasons. It’s wrong because we’ve grown up together as friends. It’s wrong because her overprotective brother (who also happens to be my short-tempered best friend) would go fucking crazy. It’s wrong because she’s a sassy-mouthed costume artist who doesn’t take any shit, and I’m a smart-talking talent agent who trades in bullshit. It’s wrong because this one single act could ruin so many of the best things in both of our lives.

But the fact remains, we’re alone in a hotel, she’s wearing jean shorts that are driving me crazy, and I’ve got a hard-on that could drill granite – all the wrong in the world isn’t going to stop the inevitable from happening.

EXCERPT II:
"I look down at those eyes, at the face that’s become the background to my every thought, my every dream. A face that’s come to symbolize everything good and pure and right in my life. A face I’d given up on seeing this close ever again. A face I don’t deserve."

I grew up in Southern California and now live with my wife in Venice, CA. In between I've lived in NYC, India and Thailand. I love to travel and enjoy surfing, training in MMA and riding motorcycles. I've always enjoyed making up stories, especially ones inspired by real life.
