FIVE amazing feathers for Promise Me Tomorrow. Heather really outdid herself with this one. Emotional, gripping, passionate, suspenseful and secretive.
Jase has had a very hard life, starting from the age of sixteen. His addict and low life brother (Jax) forcefully brought him into a world that he never wanted to be a part of. Shortly after his brother forced this life upon him, he lost his parents. The mother that hung on her husband's every word and his dad who always promised tomorrow to his life long love. Jase wanted that love one day, but it was cut way too short, causing him to push away anyone who tried to love him.
Fast forward 14 years and Jase is all grown up and working undercover for the CPD. He wants to find his parents killer. He knows who he is and how to get him. He also has a bombshell, Tiff, that is totally head over heels in love with him. He has strong feelings for her, but he refuses to let her in, afraid that she will get to close. Jase had carried the secret of his parents murder for all of these years. Afraid that if he told anyone, they would die, he kept quiet, causing trouble in his personal life.
Jases fear is that if he fully loves Tiff, she will get hurt. He is afraid that he will lose her all together. Therefore, he continues to push her away, although Tiff refuses to give up. She can see the passion in his eyes when they make love. She can see how territorial he is when she dances with another man. Will he continue to push her away, in order to keep her safe? Or will his heart give in and love her like she should be loved? Can Jase promise Tiff Tomorrows, instead of only todays?
This is one amazing story that will stick with me for quite some time. I don't often come across a story where the hero is so messed up and has guttural feelings at the same time. This book .. THIS BOOK ... the heroine wears the pants. I cannot tell you how amazing I think that is! You won me over Ms. D'Agostino! You have gained another forever follower.
