THE BRITISH ARE COMING! THE BRITISH ARE COMING!
Now a Wall Street Journal Best-Seller
From New York Times best-selling author Ilsa Madden-Mills comes a new stand alone romance....
A scarred fighter.
A girl with rules.
One night of unbridled passion.
There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Bennett: she's smart as a whip, always in control, and lives by a set of carefully crafted rules. She's learned the hard way that people you love the most always hurt you in the end.
But then she meets Declan Blay, the new neighbor at her apartment complex.
A tattooed British street fighter, he's the campus bad boy she's supposed to avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window. She gives him one night of unbridled passion, but he longs for more.
With only a cardboard-thin wall separating their bedrooms, he dreams of possessing the vulnerable girl next door forever.
One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.
*A modern love story inspired by Pride and Prejudice*

We meet our Heroine Elizabeth Bennett as she’s experiencing one of the most horrifying events in life, ever. We then see her attempting to take control of her life. With Rules. As John Lennon said, “Life happens while we are making other plans.” That’s what was happening with her.  I like her because she is relatable and real. Even though she has sort of unrealistic expectations out of life. She is honest in who she is.

Then there is our Hero, Declan. He is so done with girls and relationships and “love.” He is not exactly a play boy but he has other things going on or himself. We meet him working hard, may be even doing some illegal things to make something of himself, and open his gym. He is strong, sexy and brooding with an English accent. Swoon right? I like him because he is real as well. I like that he isn’t afraid of his feelings and he has a strong sense of who he is. He doesn’t apologize for it. The best part… THERE ARE TWO OF THEM!!! Yes Declan has a twin brother named Dax, who is just as sinful as his brother if not even more so.

In this story we face some legit tragedy. The story gets you invested in the characters so you experience every fear, tear and heartache. This is okay though, because that means we also get to experience every smile, laugh and well every sexy feeling as well.

I gave this book five stars for the amazing main characters. I love that it didn’t take a whole book to for them to realize their feelings. I love the ending with the danger and the sweetness. Well done.

She didn’t mention the movie, and I didn’t bring it up. Her body was a drug and I wanted to consume her. I wanted to press her deep into those sheets and claim her as mine.

But I didn’t.

I didn’t just want one night with Elizabeth. I wanted more.
